Maharashtra: Nine arrested for playing cricket during Janta Curfew in Kalyan

KALYAN: The

Mahatma Phule police

in Kalyan have arrested nine people for allegedly playing cricket during

Janta Curfew

on Sunday.


Nine people were arrested for allegedly violating government's order of curfew in which five or more people can not gather at one place. The arrested people are identified as

Mustakim Shaikh

,

Hamja Khan

, Altaf Shaikh,

Umar Shaikh

, Imtiyaz Sayyed, Kunal Farde, Hussain Shaikh and Imran.

The action was taken on Sunday afternoon when police team during Janta Curfew noticed nine people playing cricket inside Kala Talao ground in Kalyan.

Vivek Pansare, deputy commissioner of Police, Zone 3 of Thane police said, "After arresting the nine people, we released them immediately on bail".
