Head constables attack Assistant Sub Inspector

THRISSUR: Police on Thursday registered an attempt to murder case against two senior civil police officers (CPO) who had allegedly assaulted an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) at the Armed Reserve Police Camp at Ramavarmapuram near here.
The accused have been identified as Sibi Dhanavan and Linto. They had allegedly attacked the ASI Sadanandan following disputes about preparing the duty chart on Wednesday night.
According to the police officials one of the CPOs had allegedly tried to strangulate the ASI using a towel.The ASI had to run to save his life. The Peramangalam CI M V Manikandan who is investigating the case disclosed that the ASI was discharged from hospital after first aid.
The Guruvayur Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) R Jayachandran Pillai said both the accused were absconding and efforts are on to nab them.
