SHRC seeks action on withheld certificates
Kollam: State human rights commission (SHRC) member V Geetha ordered urgent action on a complaint that Govt Medical College, Parippally, authorities are not returning the original certificates of a student who secured admission to MBBS under the disability quota but is facing difficulties in continuing her studies due to hearing impairment.SHRC directed the medical college superintendent to intervene urgently, take all possible measures, and submit a report within seven days both via email and by post to the panel. The case will be taken up at SHRC headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram on June 3.SHRC stated in its order that a child's further education cannot be denied due to non-receipt of certificates. TNN
