Varanasi: The Centre for Women's Studies and Development (CWSD), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), in collaboration with the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and National Film Archive of India (NFAI), Pune, is going to organise a four-day film festival on women and film appreciation workshop from September 10 to 13.
Talking to reporters on Monday, CWSD coordinator Shubha Rao said that famous women-centric films like 15 Park Avenue, Devi, Khamosh Paani and Daman would be screened during the festival.
Distinguished film personalities like Jabbar Patel, Meeta Vashishth and faculty of FTII and NFAI would take part in the workshop to highlight the technical and other intricacies of film making.
Rao said that besides the screening of film, the participants would also discuss on changing images of women in Indian cinema women film makers of India and Indian women as seen by men.
