Gorakhpur: A candidate appearing in the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Examination was arrested after he was allegedly found using a mobile phone inside the exam centre in Gorakhpur on Monday.
The accused has been identified as Ram Prakash Kumar, a resident of Belwariya village under Asthawan police station in Bihar’s Nalanda district.
According to police, Ram Prakash had arrived at Neena Thapa Inter College in Gorakhpur to appear in the exam. During the exam, an invigilator noticed his suspicious movements and upon checking, found a mobile phone concealed in his undergarments. He was subsequently detained by the centre administration and handed over to police.
A case has been registered at AIIMS police station under under sections 318(3) and 221 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and sections 3 and 4 of Uttar Pradesh Public Examination Act, 1998.
