VARANASI: To take note of health and hygiene situation prevailing in Kotwa locality of Lohta area, where at least 10 persons including children died of different diseases in past few days, members of Vishal Bharat Sansthan led by former central information commissioner, OP Kejriwal visited the area on Thursday.
They alleged that the area was under severe neglect and poor sanitation.

According to president, Vishal Bharat Sansthan, Dr Rajiv Srivastava, despite 10 continuous death in the region, no medical officer is visiting door to door to check the situation.
While severe unhygienic conditions are prevailing in the area, the water tank that supplies drinking water in the area had not been cleaned for several decades. The unfit water supplied in the area could be responsible for the spread of various water borne disease in the area.
The team had also found that the region has several open drains and is prone to epidemics.
