Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu
Tirupati: In a major push toward tech-driven public health and preventive medicine, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu will officially launch the comprehensive expansion of the Sanjeevani Healthcare Project at Yadamarri near Chittoor on Saturday. The initiative, which has been successfully running as a pilot project in the Kuppam and Naravaripalle constituencies, is a cornerstone of the state govt’s new healthcare vision aimed at creating digital health profiles for every citizen.Chittoor MP Daggumalla Prasad Rao explained that “The Sanjeevani project operates via a cutting-edge Digital Nerve Centre, which seamlessly integrates patient data across primary health centers (PHCs) and major hospitals, which ensures that a patient’s complete history, including diagnostic tests, prescriptions, and lab reports, is instantly accessible to doctors anywhere in the state, minimizing redundant testing and accelerating emergency responses.“As part of the massive rollout, the state has approved an expenditure of ₹162 crore to deploy 904 Mobile Medical Units to cater to remote and rural areas. The state govt has set an ambitious target to conduct medical screenings for 56.40 lakh people within the next year. In a bid to enhance efficiency, the chief minister has directed that medical test results must be delivered directly to the beneficiaries via WhatsApp within 48 hours of testing”, Chittoor MP asserted.
Backed by global expertise, including collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the project focuses heavily on preventative care. Already, over 3.14 lakh individuals have been securely registered within the digital database. A dedicated Health Secretariat is being formed to monitor the execution of the program, which is structured alongside the upcoming Universal Health Policy via the NTR Vaidya Seva Trust.Saturday’s launch in Chittoor marks the beginning of a phased deployment, with the government aiming for a complete, statewide rollout immediately. Local administrative officials, led by Chittoor district collector Sumit Kumar, have already conducted workshops to prepare medical, nursing, and paramedical staff for 100% digital data entry of all outpatient services starting from Saturday.Puthalapattu TDP legislator Dr K Murali Mohan, Chittoor SP Tushar Dudi inspected the venue near Yadamarri and reviewed the arrangements for the Chief minister’s programme on Friday.
