Guntur DTC Meera Prasad bags international Covid-19 warrior award

The founder and CMD of Viswaguru world records, Rambabu, committee members Yadaiah Goud, Sundaravalli Gopalakrishna visited DTC office here on Sunday to personally present the award to Meera Prasad.
The Viswaguru trust members lauded the services rendered by Meera Prasad during the outbreak of Covid-19 last year.
Addressing the media, trust CMD Rambabu said that they have picked up Guntur DTC Meera Prasad for the prestigious award after seeing his commendable job during the Covid-19. He said that the transport department led by Meera Prasad had arranged 121 Vehicles to transport covid-19 positive patients and their primary and secondary contacts to hospitals during the peak Covid-19 spread.
He said that the department had also organised 2554 vehicles for transportation of 79,200 migrant labour to their native places. “It is not an ordinary issue to handle so many vehicles particularly when everyone is scared to move out. Meera Prasad stood out as an exception to motivate the staff and also the drivers of the private vehicles,” said trust member Yadaiah Goud.
Interestingly, DTC took the initiative to set up partition glasses in the office to safeguard the employees who handle public during the pandemic. “We have taken the highest care to provide safety to our employees as well as the visitors as we sanitized the office every day with Sodium Hypochlorite,” said Meera Prasad. He thanked the trust members for presenting the award. He said that they could achieve better results during the pandemic with the support of his officials and also the public.
He said that they have screened all of their staff members for Covid-19 to contain the spread of the disease. He said that they have set up check posts across the district to prevent the movement of vehicles during the lockdown period.
He said that they have distributed 2,000 protection kits to transport vehicle drivers each kit containing two soaps, one hand sanitizer, 4 sets of hand gloves and a purse to keep all these items. He said that they have provided buses for
