Woman found dead at home in Chittoor, cops suspect husband

A married woman was found murdered at her residence in Neeruguttavaripalli Rajanagar area under Madanapalle town, Chittoor district on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Uma, a native of Tirupati Mangalam Colony.

VIJAYAWADA: A married woman was found murdered at her residence in Neeruguttavaripalli Rajanagar area under Madanapalle town, Chittoor district on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Uma, a native of Tirupati Mangalam Colony.
According to Madanapalli town police, the incident happened in the morning when locals noticed Uma lying unconscious at her house in a pool of blood.

Upon information, cops reached the spot and examined the scene. Police sources said that their prime suspect happens to be her husband Ramanjaneyulu, a weaver by profession who shifted from his native Dharmavaram village in Anantapur town three months ago.
Cops said that Ramanjaneyulu is currently missing and is not reachable. Senior officials said that a team of police are on the lookout to trace the whereabouts of Ramanjaneyulu. Cops also said that Uma’s relatives too have issued a statement alleging that Ramanjaneyulu could be behind the offence as they cite that there were numerous fights between the couple. A case under section 302 of IPC (murder) has been registered at Madanapalli town police. Meanwhile, Uma’s body has been sent to a local government hospital for post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death.
