Discussion held on rights of fishermen
Visakhapatnam: Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU), in collaboration with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), organised an open house discussion on the ‘rights of fishermen’. Prof Surya Prakasa Rao, V-C of DSNLU, said identifying, protecting, and enforcing rights are fundamental responsibilities of any law university. Vijaya Bharathi Sayani, the acting chairperson of NHRC and chief guest, demanded measures for protection of fishermen.

Coast Guard saves 13 fishermen stranded near Dwarka
During heavy rains in Gujarat, the Indian Coast Guard rescued 13 stranded fishermen from the boat 'Padmawati' near Devbhumi Dwarka's coast. Responding to an Aug 27 distress call, the ICG deployed an ALH helicopter and ship 'Abheek.' Despite adverse weather, all crew were safely returned to Okha on Aug 28.
