Visakhapatnam: Heavy rain lashed Vizag city on Wednesday evening, throwing normal life out of gear. Electricity supply was hit in most parts of the city for over three hours. Water-logging in certain areas like Poorna Market, Gnanapuram, Allipuram, Gajuwaka, Maddilapalem, NAD Junction, and Appu Ghar caused heavy traffic congestion. According to reports, agency areas also witnessed heavy rains. However, the ongoing heavy rain came as a big relief for farmers. Meanwhile, agency areas also saw abundant rainfall on Wednesday.

Parts of Ahmedabad face waterlogging following heavy rains

Severe waterlogging from heavy rainfall disrupted life in Ahmedabad, affecting areas like Ghatlodiya and Naranpura. Commuters struggled through flooded streets. Similar issues were reported in Delhi. The India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain in parts of East and Northeast India, with warnings of isolated heavy and very heavy rainfall in several regions throughout the coming week.

August logs 66% of average rainfall in Maharashtra; heavy rain unlikely till weekend

During most of August's dry spell, 66% of Mumbai's average rainfall has been recorded. Moderate rain is forecast until the month's end, falling short of the monthly average. Heavy rainfall in July contributed to the excess seasonal total. Water stocks in lakes are 94.87% of the required quantum, close to the target.
