Visakhapatnam: Stray dogs and cattle are turning out to be a menace in the Andhra University campus. The situation has escalated to a point where these animals are entering classrooms, posing a serious threat to the safety of students and faculty alike.
While a faculty member and six students were injured in a dog attack recently, in another incident, a dog entered a classroom and caused panic among students. Female students residing in the women's engineering college hostel express fear of venturing out due to the presence of dogs. There are quite a few dogs near the hostel mess as leftover food is dumped there regularly.
Students and parents are urging university authorities to take steps to address the issue. They are calling for measures to control the dog and cattle population andimprove sanitation within the university.
