UGC directs universities to upload 2025 academic records on ABC platform by June 30; check official notice
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), including universities and autonomous colleges, to upload students' academic records for the Examination Year 2025 on the National Academic Depository (NAD) and Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) platform by June 30, 2026.
The commission has said that June 30 will be the final deadline for uploading records and no fresh upload opportunity will be provided after the deadline.
According to the official advisory, Vice Chancellors, directors and principals have been asked to ensure that all pending academic records are uploaded within the prescribed timeline.
UGC stated that the upload window for Examination Year 2025 records will be closed after June 30.
"The above timeline shall be treated as final for uploading academic records relating to Examination Year 2025. After the deadline, the upload window will be closed, and no further fresh uploads for Examination Year 2025 shall be permitted on the platform," the commission said.
However, the advisory clarified that corrections to already uploaded records may still be allowed in exceptional cases following the prescribed procedures.
"Corrections or modifications to already uploaded records may be permitted only in exceptional cases and in accordance with the prescribed procedures of the NAD/ABC system," the advisory added.
The commission has instructed institutions to upload:
Institutions have also been asked to review their current upload status and complete any pending work before the deadline.
The directive refers to a Ministry of Education (MoE) communication that highlighted the importance of linking students' academic records with their Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) IDs.
According to the advisory, timely uploading of academic records is necessary for the smooth functioning of the Academic Bank of Credits ecosystem and helps students access services such as credit accumulation, transfer and redemption.
UGC said the initiative supports the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which promotes a flexible and multidisciplinary education system with multiple entry and exit options for students.
"The NEP 2020 envisions flexible curricular structures promoting a credit-based system that encourages flexible, integrated, and multidisciplinary education and creating new possibilities for life-long learning," the advisory stated.
The commission has urged all Higher Education Institutions to complete the uploading process on the NAD-ABC platform before June 30 to avoid any disruption in student academic records and credit management services.
