Examination details and pass criteria
The Higher Secondary examinations in West Bengal were held from February 12 to February 27, 2026. Approximately 7.1 lakh candidates appeared for the examinations this year, including more than 6.35 lakh students from 6,837 schools across 23 districts.

Students must obtain at least 30 per cent marks in every subject to qualify. The board has stated that candidates are also required to secure a minimum of 30 per cent marks separately in theory and practical or project components.

Last year, the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education announced the WB HS Results on May 7, 2025 at 12:30 PM. The overall pass percentage recorded by the board stood at 90.79 per cent.

A total of 4,73,919 students had appeared for the examination in 2025. Boys recorded a pass percentage of 93 per cent, while girls secured a pass percentage of 88.88 per cent.

The board is expected to release the detailed performance data for 2026 along with the official declaration of results.

Minimum marks required to qualify
According to the passing criteria prescribed by the council, candidates are required to secure at least 30 per cent marks in each subject to qualify in the Higher Secondary examinations.
