Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TTDP), led by former Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, has decided to not contest the November 30 assembly elections. It will be the first assembly election after the formation of Telangana in 2014 that TTDP chose to not contest.
High drama was witnessed at TTDP office at NTR Trust Bhavan on Sunday minutes after state chief Kasani Gnaneshwar announced the party decision.
A few party politicians even staged a protest at the party office and Kasani was almost in tears. The TTDP chief on Sunday interacted with the cadre to inform the party's decision.
After much speculation over the assembly contest, the high command informed that they would be unable to focus on the Telangana elections in view of developments (
