Kunwar Pranav Singh

‘Champion’ of

Khanpur constituency

, upset with his rival Desraj Karanwal of Jhabreda calling him a fake man with fake sporting credentials, challenged Karanwal to a bout at Nehru stadium in Roorkee.

Champion, who stands at over six feet, even reached the stadium on Friday morning donning a saffron cap and a T-shirt, which amply showed his intimidating biceps, and waited for Karanwal.

However, Karanwal failed to turn up, saying no point in going to a fight without “weapons”. A day earlier, Karanwal, a first-term MLA earlier with BSP, had called Champion, a four-term MLA who belongs to former princely state of Landhaura, a “princely imposter”.
