Anjan Dutt and his wife are known to be great cooks. So, every other day the team would either order for food or someone would get it from home. The film sees Biswanath Chakraborty playing the victim, Benimadhab, who gets murdered. The day they were shooting the scene, they managed to wrap up just before the lunch break. He could smell the food. He rushed to join others, without even bothering to remove his make-up — blood stains and all. It was a sight to behold — a dead man eating!

As most of them were foodies on the sets, they would decide on the day's menu first and then start shooting for the film.

Anjan Dutt made an extra effort to write a scene specially for Saswata's character, Ajit, in this film — to not only maintain continuity of his character but also to establish why Ajit is an intrinsic part of Byomkesh and Satyabati's lives. It's never been explained in any of the original Byomkesh stories.

For Abir Chatterjhee, this is he last and final Byomkesh film he is doing, since he came on board the Feluda franchise as the Satyajit Ray detective
