Those who have seen the 2015 comedy ‘Jomer Raja Dilo Bor’ know what a cracker it was, especially the story. And now the same director who made the Abir Chatterjee and Paayel Sarkar starrer Bengali flick is set for his Bollywood debut. Yes, we are talking about Abir Sengupta.
The Bollywood comedy titled ‘Indoo Ki Jawani’ will star Kiara Advani, who is playing the female lead opposite Shahid Kapoor in ‘Kabir Singh’, as the protagonist.

Taking to her Twitter handle Kiara announced on Monday: “#IndooKiJawani My first In and As So excited to collaborate with @EmmayEntertain @nikkhiladvani @monishaadvani @madhunhojwani @ashesinwind @ryanmstephen #AbirSengupta for the first time & it had to be as special as Indoo we need all your love & support for this one.”
The coming-of-age comedy sees Advani as a young woman from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, who ends up on a dating app on her mobile phone. Her adventures through the app form the crux of the story.
Before launching his filmmaking career with the surreal comedy ‘Jomer Raja Dilo Bor’, Abir Sengupta who thinks of himself as a writer first also worked on the renowned Hindi detective series C.I.D. from 2011 to 2012.
Abir is making another Hindi comedy titled ‘Anandwaa’ which stars Jackky Bhagnani in the lead. The film is an ode to Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 1971 cult classic ‘Anand’.
