The actress has worked with two veteran actors -- Naseeruddin Shah and Soumitra Chatterjee – in the film and she got to learn immensely from them. In the film, Amrita is playing the friend of a primary school science teacher, who faces a legal charge related to religion. Incidentally, the legal notice was sent by the father of his friend, played by Amrita. “Now the girl is in a dilemma. On one hand is her father and on the other hand, her friend is in trouble,” she added.
Besides Naseeruddin and Soumitra, Kausik Sen and Anusua Majumder are also part of this much anticipated project. Based on Jerome Lawrence and Robert E Lee's play, Inherit The Wind, the film delves into the crisis of Kunal, a biology teacher in a tribal area, who teaches Darwinism in a school.
Amrita has also worked in Teen Kanya. The film is based on three separate stories that revolve around three separate characters. Amrita has played the central character in one of the stories named ‘Good Morning Revolution’. Amrita is seen in the role of a college student, who is involved in student politics. “The girl chooses comparative literature over her medical career. Her parents are not very happy about her life choices. Soon they get to know a secret about her, which changes the girl’s image in the eyes of her parents,” she said, adding that her character has many shades and layers.
