For the very first time an online documentary film festival has been organized. The festival focuses on the award-winning films by four important and lauded Indian documentary Filmmakers –
Supriyo Sen, Pankaj Rishi Kumar, Miriam Chandy Menacherry and
Haobam Paban Kumar.
The program is conceptualized and curated by artist, writer and curator Ushmita Sahu. The festival includes online film viewing, conversation with filmmakers and a panel discussion on ‘Documentary Filmmaking In India Today By Understanding The Ecosystem And Its Challenges’.
Besides the filmmakers, Usmita Sahu and Richa Agarwal, CEO, Emami Art will also be present for the panel discussion.

Haobam Paban Kumar’s ‘Phum Shang’ (Floating Life) (2014) and ‘Mr. India’ (2009)
The panel discussion will take place on July 31.
This online platform of film viewing is a response to the pandemic and the new forms of online interactions that the situation has given rise to. Although, these online platforms cannot replace inter-person interactions, the festival organizers hope that by creating interesting parallel viewing spaces they can add value to this period of in-betweenness.
