Anindya donates blood before opting for vaccination in May

Anindya Chatterjee came forward to donate blood on Saturday. The actor is also planning to donate plasma provided he is still eligible. There could be a crisis in the blood banks as the country gears up to vaccinate its population above 18. “As per the guidelines issued by the National Blood Transfusion Council, one cannot donate blood for 28 days, after taking the second dose of vaccination.This may lead to an acute shortage of blood in the next two months. A cycling community group, along with others, is hosting the blood donation drive. I thought of donating blood before opting for the vaccine in May. I’m also planning to donate plasma,” Anindya said.

The actor suffered from Covid in December. “I will have to do an antibody test and then consult my doctor to see if I could donate plasma. If I get a green signal, I most definitely, will,” he said.
