Anshuman Pratyush stops ‘Nirbhaya’ shoot amid corona crisis

Anshuman Pratyush, who started shooting for his next ‘Nirbhaya’ on April 22 with Priyanka Sarkar, Gaurav Chakrabarty and others, had to put the shoot on hold because of the alarming state of the rising COVID-19 cases.“We started shooting from last week of April but after two days we stopped because of the situation. Health is our priority right now and we must concentrate on that as the shoot can happen later.We’ll decide when to resume our shoot after the situation improves,” Anshuman shared with ETimes. Many actors, directors and technicians from the entertainment industry in Bengal have tested positive, impacting shoots in a big way. Meanwhile, Anshuman’s another much-anticipated film ‘Baazi’ which was supposed to release during Eid has also been postponed. Tolly superstar Jeet who plays the lead in the film opposite Mimi Chakraborty announced the news recently through his Twitter handle.Anshuman's last film ‘SOS kolkata’, released during last year’s Durga Puja scored decently at the box office. Starring Yash Dasgupta, Mimi Chakraborty and Nusrat Jahan in the lead, the action thriller narrates the story of a series of terrorist attacks planned to go off in Kolkata. Zakir Ahmed, an ATS Commando, and Amanda Jones, an ATS Technical Head, work together to conduct a deadly rescue operation in a popular hotel and save the city.
