The last one month of self-isolation has produced a slew of quarantine films that are marked by low budgets and short screen time. Dealing with common themes like dystopia and alienation, these isolation shorts are exploring existential crisis in both the domestic and social spaces. Joining this international bandwagon are Tollywood’s directors too.
Now a group of Jadavpur film studies students have come up with an interesting lockdown short. Titled ‘Anurag’, this short film’s story, direction and screenplay are by Soumyadeep Mandal, whike ‘Abyakto’ fame Soumya Rit has composed the music. It stars Ayon Saha and Anisha Chatterjee. The short has already earned a lot of appreciation on social media simple yet touching story.
‘Anuraag’ has been made by maintaining complete social distance. It salutes the doctors, nurses, health workers, administration and everyone who are serving our society during this period of crisis. It shares a beautiful message amidst this dire situation with all the simplicity it needs.
