The regulars at Vivekananda Park were in for a huge surprise recently. With a palace-like structure coming up next to the phuchka joints, many didn’t know how to react. Turns out it’s the brand new flagship period dining experience of Oudh 1590 that has come up at Southern Avenue. An architectural marvel, it aims at recreating the old-world Lucknow.
The murals, floor tiles, chandeliers, dining table or even the bronze-plated crockery and cutlery are in sync with the grandeur of the era. It has now emerged that the restaurant is designed by none other than National Award-winning art director
Nitish Roy, who also created the earlier outlets of Shiladitya and Debaditya Chaudhury’s Oudh 1590.
“It is always great associating with Nitishda. Also, the Awadhi cuisine available at the joint is reminiscent of its gourmet nawabs like Asf-ud-Daulah and Wajid ali Shah,” said Debaditya. Launch of the restaurant was attended by Lolita and
Sandip Ray and Chiranjeet Chakraborty.
