Srijit
Mukherji’s film Dwitiyo Purush that goes with the tagline — ‘Baishe Srabon er por... Dwitiyo Purush’ is a spin-off to Baishey Srabon. The shoot of Dwitiyo Purush will commence from October 17. The cast names unveiled right before the shoot are Anirban Bhattacharya, Rwitobroto Mukherjee and
Gaurav
Chakrabarty, along with
Parambrata
Chatterjee and Raima Sen.
The story of Dwitiyo Purush will commence from where Baishe Srabon left off and will see Parambrata Chattopadhyay reprise the role of chief detective Abhijit Pakrashi and Raima Sen bring back her character, Amrita. Raima, on her part, is looking forward to the film and said, “Baishe Srabon changed the way how thrillers were perceived by the Bengali audience and was a landmark in the genre. Srijit is known to be a master when it comes to thrillers and I’m sure Dwitiyo Purush will have a similar effect on the audience.”
Rwitobroto, who will be working with Srijit for the first time, is happy to be a part of the film. “This film is Baishe Srabon's spin-off and not a sequel. I am not supposed to say anything more than that as it is my director’s strict instruction,” said the actor, who is celebrating his birthday today at home.
Gaurav, who plays a junior police officer in this film, said, “In the past, Srijit da had offered me roles in his films. But I couldn’t as I had prior commitments. I am happy that this time, I could.”
