Brata forged his identity to bag a role in Haami

Did you know that Bhutu aka Brata Banerjee — the young hero of Haami — posed as a Class II student when the film team reached his school, Patha Bhavan! Story goes that, spotting his talent, Brata’s class teacher asked him to stand in the queue even though he was still in Class I. Talking about it, director Nandita Roy said, “We were holding an audition for Class II students and Brata claimed he was among them.” The director further added that she had rejected him as the auditions were held for Kantho, which is about a cancer survivor.“I needed a quiet child and Brata didn’t fit the bill. But the entire team was gung-ho about working with Brata and finally, Haami happened,” she added.
