‘Crisscross’: The official poster featuring 5 independent women looks intriguing

Whether it’s the gripping trailer or the first song ‘Duniya’, Birsa Dasgupta’s ‘Crisscross’ has grabbed all the attention it needed ahead of its release on August 10.
Based on Smaranjit Chakraborty’s bestseller novel, it’s a rare mainstream Bengali film in which there are as many as five female central characters. Now, to intensify the craze surrounding this women-centric film, the makers have launched the official poster of ‘Crisscross’ featuring all the five girls in the film- Nusrat Jahan, Mimi Chakraborty, Sohini Sarkar, Jaya Ahsan and Priyanka Sarkar.

Mimi Chakraborty will be seen as Ira, a workaholic photojournalist trying to maintain a balance between her professional and personal life. Priyanka Sarkar plays Suzy, a single mother fighting for her son. Sohini Sarkar essays out the role of a troubled housewife Rupa who is blamed by her in-laws for not having a kid. Jaya Ahsan plays Miss Sen, a successful businesswoman. Nusrat Jahan will be seen as an aspiring actress Meher who remains the only earning member of her family.
Bankrolled by SVF, the film represents one single day of these women when their lives crisscross with each other. Besides these five leading ladies, the cast includes Arjun Chakraborty, Gaurab Chakraborty and Ambarish Bhattacharya playing other key characters.
