‘Debi’ directed by Anam Biswas will mark the debut of producer
Jaya Ahsan. The Bangladeshi actress will also essay out a pivotal character of Ranu in this upcoming film based on Humayun Ahmed’s famous novel of the same title. The recently released first-look poster of the film received an overwhelming response on social media. The makers have now announced the release date and it is September 7.
Chanchal Chowdhurywill be seen as Misir Ali, the protagonist. Misir Ali is a time-tested character introduced by Humayun Ahmed who deals in science and logic. Animesh Aich, Iresh Zaker and Sabnam Faria will also play important roles.
Being the producer of ‘Debi’ and also a popular face of Tollywood, Jaya is also hoping to release the film in India but she doesn’t want to make any quick move since the audiences are still rooting for it.
The Bangladeshi actress is keeping herself quite busy these days. Only a few weeks ago she wrapped up her shooting part for Birsa Dasgupta’s ‘Crisscross’. She has already completed shooting for Shiboprosad Mukherjee-Nandita Roy’s upcoming ‘Kontho’. Now, the Bangladeshi actress is all set to play a character named ‘Bristi’ who suffers from multiple personality disorder. It’s a psychological thriller titled ‘Bristi Tomake Dilam’ directed by Arnab pal.
