Diwali 2022 Sayantani: Ensure a happy and safe Diwali for pets as well

Sayantani Guhathakurta is looking forward to the essence of togetherness this year. Celebrating Diwali with family, that’s what she has been waiting for.
“I still remember how we used to celebrate with firecrackers with cousins and relatives in our childhood. I also remember Baba used to bring firecrackers each year during Kali Puja and everyone at house used to wait for that moment. However, as I grew up the celebration turned into get-together without any firecrackers.Another important part is lighting diyas everywhere at house. We never forget to do that. Diwali symbolises the victory of good over evil, the triumph of light over darkness, and hope over despair. The diyas we light up represent not only the essence of light in our lives but also reminds us of the need to reflect on all that is good in life,” shares the actress.
She also urges that we should ensure a safe and enjoyable Diwali for our pets and the stray animals as well, “I would request people to not leave the pets at home during Diwali. It in fact scares them even more. They should always feel the love and comfort among everyone — this makes them feel safe.” With Diwali round the corner, pet parents have already started planning and taking steps to ensure their loved animals are least disturbed by the loud cracker noises.

Meanwhile, on the work front, the actress will next be seen in Atiul Islam’s ‘Chatak’ opposte Biswanath Basu. She’s also a part of an upcoming anthology film 'Tribhooj', being directed by Bappa.
