‘Dotara’: Amitabha Dasgupta’s next explores the root of militant movements in Cooch Bihar

Director Amitabha Dasgupta’s next ‘Dotara’, will reportedly deal with the anti-national militant movement related to the Koch-Rajbangshi group of Cooch Bihar. Starring Subrat Dutta, Rajesh Sharma, Suman Banerjee, Snigdha Pandey, Dipankar Dey, Biswajit Chakraborty, Sonali Chowdhury in key roles, ‘Dotara’ tries to look deep into the sentiments of these regional movements.
The plot of this upcoming social drama revolves around Snata Mitra (Snigdha Pandey), a journalist trying to explore the truth behind the militant movements in rural Cooch Bihar.In her quest, she meets Debdutta Burman (Subrat Dutta), the son of the soil. Despite being a popular singer, Debdutta gets involved in this movement. As per the instruction of his leader Shimul Das (Rajesh Sharma) he tries to get close to Snata to use her in favour of their movement. But Debdutta eventually realises this movement is misleading the young generation and tries to convince Das, but it is too late. What happens next forms the crux of the film.
