Mimi Chakraborty and
Arjun Chakraborty, the much-loved pair from the popular show Gaaner Oparey (2011), have joined hands once again for Arindam Sil’s film, Khela Jokhon. The actors will soon be attending a workshop before the film goes on the floors, on August 25. The film, which was supposed to start in 2019, was initially stalled due to some date issues, followed by the pandemic and the consequent lockdown.
The other actors in the cast include
Harsh Chhaya, who will be travelling all the way from Mumbai, and
Susmita Chatterjee, who debuted in Anindya Chattopadyay’s film, Prem Tem.
Talking about the project, Susmita said, “Yes, I had a chat with Arindam da. And I am part of his next film. But I can’t divulge much about my character. At present, Arindam da is busy with the shooting of Mahananda. So, we will have our acting workshops once he finishes shooting. I love the way Arindam da directs a film. I hope I will be able to perform well with his guidance. I am also excited to work with Mimi and Arjun and I am sure I will learn a lot from them.”
The plot of Khela Jokhon focuses on Urmi, who has just come out of coma and is taken care of by her loving husband, Sagnik. Soon, the situation gets complicated for her. The contradiction in her life reveals a deep secret, which is extremely violent on micro and macro level and affects her world around. What happens next in Urmi’s life is the film all about. Mimi will be playing Urmi’s character in this film.
Susmita, who loves to travel, is planning a short trip to the hills in July. “It's been almost two years that I have not travelled anywhere. I desperately need a break before I start shooting with a fresh mind for Arindam da’s film,” said the model-turned-actress.
