Here’s why Jisshu Sengupta feels worried!
Last year he delivered back to back hits and both of them were directed by Srijit Mukherji. The audience was left in awe as Jisshu Sengupta’s Bhawal Sanyashi look became talk of the town in ‘Ek Je Chhilo Raja’.
Since Uttam Kumar's Sanyashi Raja remains a cult classic in Bengali cinema and was loosely based on the same real-life incident there was every possibility of comparison. However, Jisshu considers himself quite lucky that no comparison was drawn by movie buffs.

He had also played Byomkesh in Anjan Dutta's screen adaptation of ‘Chiriyakhana’ which again had a Uttam Kumar version directed by Satyajit Ray.
The dashing actor will once again portray Mahanayak Uttam Kumar in his Soumik Sen’s upcoming ‘Mahalaya’ and according to Jisshu: "This is the first time, I am worried." Interestingly, he had tips from his mother-in-law Anjana Bhaumik while preparing for the character. We all know Anjana had been a heroine of the Mahanayak of Bengali cinema.
Mahalaya is set to hit the theatres on March 1.
