Pritha Chakraborty’s debut film Mukherjee Dar Bou is getting a lot of applause from the audience. Did the director expect such a positive response from the audience, we ask her. “I am overwhelmed by the love. This is the fourth week and the film is running to packed theatres. I guess the simple and relatable storyline worked for the film,” said the director.
Mukherjee Dar Bou is a film with a strong message for women.
This film is about the bittersweet journey of finding the identity of the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law duo, both of whom are identified as 'Mukherjee Dar Bou' (Mukherjee Da's wife) by society. The story is based on a modern dysfunctional family revolving around the complex and intricate yet caring relationship of a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Biswanath, who plays the male lead in the film, is happy that Bengalis are loving the film. “Simplicity is the secret of this film’s success. The film shows how a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law can be friends and they don’t always have to be at loggerheads,” said the actor.
Biswanth is a part of serials like Mayurpankhi and Abar Jombe Moja. “I am taking it easy and not signing too many projects. I did Boishaki Jalsha and really enjoyed it,” said the actor.
