I still can’t believe I'm married to my love: Mainak Banerjee

On Friday, actor Mainak Banerjee got married to his four years old girlfriend Ashwarya Chowdhury, a car designer by profession. “I still can’t believe that we are married now. In fact, after the wedding, Ashwarya pinched me to ask whether we are really a couple now,” said the actor with a smile. He added, “We registered our marriage on February 14 and a ring ceremony was held the same today.My wife has made it clear that from next year I can’t club the two events — both the ring ceremony and Valentine’s Day must be celebrated separately! She made it clear that she wants two separate gifts for the two occasions! We followed all the rituals for our marriage as both of our parents wanted it to be that way. The mala bodol was great fun.”
Both Mainak and Ashwarya love mutton biryani and needless to say that the dish made it to their wedding menu. “We had time for dinner at 1 am and our appetite had given up by then. Post ghoroa boubhaat, which is on Sunday at my place, we will go to the restaurant we went to on our first date and gorge on mutton biryani together,” said Mainak.
Mainak, who can’t take off for a honeymoon now because of his shooting schedule, is planning for a trip to Himachal Pradesh during Durga Puja.
