This role is extremely close to Piloo’s heart and she is confident that it will deeply touch the viewers.
Born into a family connected with the film industry (her mother is the accomplished Bengali actress Shakuntala Barua), Piloo has always been creative. Since an early age, she has nurtured a strong love for singing. Yet, the world of acting was also in her veins, and it didn’t take her long to recognize that calling. After gaining experience in television serials, Piloo is now poised to start her cinematic journey with ‘Akelli’. So far, the responses to the trailer have been extremely positive and Piloo believes that the audience will embrace the film once it releases.
"Shooting for Akelli became a journey where I connected with the deepest parts of myself. It allowed me to embrace the woman I am, the mother missing her son in Texas (Arth Vidyarthi), the strength I possess, the responsibilities I carry, and even the fear of being alone. Through ‘Akelli,’ I walked forward, reliving my own journey as a woman,” she said.
Meanwhile, Piloo is all praise for her onscreen daughter Nushrratt. “Nushrratt is a very good actor. Collaborating with like-minded individuals on the set is genuinely a blessing. Moreover, her genuine warmth facilitates effortless connections, smoothly guiding us into portraying a mother-daughter relationship on screen,” said Piloo, who enjoyed every day working on Akelli.
Piloo doesn’t know if her ex-husband Ashish Vidyarthi will watch ‘Akelli’ or not, but she knows he will be happy that her debut film is up for release. “Maybe he will see the film or not see the film, because he is not a film buff but I know he is happy with my first film release. He also knows I am happy with his new found life,” she said.
