Rajorshi Dey’s upcoming paranormal thriller ‘Purba Pashchim Dakshin (Uttor Asbei)’ is based on Avik Sarkar’s best-selling book ‘Ebong Inquisition’. It has an ensemble cast including Rudraprasad Sengupa, Arpita Chatterjee,
Kamaleshwar Mukherjee,
Gaurav Chakrabarty, Rajesh Sharma, Padmanava Dasgupta, Bidipta Chakroborty, Anyann Bhowmick.
Rajorshi has already wrapped up the shooting part and the dubbing sessions are currently underway. Based on the first three stories from ‘Ebong Inquisition’, the thriller will project the notions of reincarnation. The plot will progress through an eventful train journey, slowly unfolding three interconnected stories.
‘Purba Pashchim Dakshin’ mainly tries to break all those superstitions surrounding black magic and
witchcraft
. People have often generalized the notions over the worship of Goddess Kali and the practice of Tantra in Bengal. Rajorshi Dey plans to show the entire practice from a different perspective through his film and he is quite confident that there hasn’t been any paranormal thriller like this in Bengali cienama till now.

Debojyoti Mishra has composed the music for ‘Purbo Poschim Dakkhin’ which is being produced by Suchandra Vaaniya Production.
