Jaya Ahsan is having a gala time across borders. While the Bangladeshi actor’s stellar performance in ‘Ek Je Chhilo Raja’ has earned her an overwhelming audience response across West Bengal, her first venture as a producer ‘Debi’ is winning hearts in Bangladesh as well. The film directed by Anam Biswas and based on Humayun Ahmed’s novel by the same name from Misir Ali series has so far enjoyed a great run at the Box Office since its release on October 19.

Jaya who also plays the central character of Ranu in ‘Debi’, definitely has a plan to release the film in India but remains a bit cautious since it’s her first production and there are so many formalities to release a Bangladeshi film here, given the latest scenario of Indo-Bangladesh projects facing an uncertain future.
“I want to follow the right procedure, don’t want to create any confusion. As I am the producer, first I want to follow up the business in Bangladesh and only then will release it in India. The sound engineer, music, a large portion of the post production has been done in Kolkata, so it’s also a film for the audience in West Bengal. I have received a lot of love in Kolkata and West Bengal. I am looking forward to bring ‘Debi’ here but the exact release date hasn’t yet finalised,” said the beautiful actress.
Beside Jaya Ahsan, Chanchal Chowdhury plays Misir Ali. The rest of the cast includes Animesh Aich, Iresh Zaker and Sabnam Faria among others.
