June, not Gargi, to play sex worker in detective film

She will be playing the role in Arindam Sil's upcoming, Ebar Shabar
Arindam Sil���s detective flick Ebar Shabar is seeing its fair share of ���thrilling��� twists and turns. A little bird tells us that Gargi Roychoudhury ��� who was supposed to play the pivotal role of a sex worker, Julekha ��� has been dropped from the film. Stepping into the character���s shoes is June.
A source shared that Gargi was replaced after she demanded an exorbitant amount as remuneration. Though Sil wasn���t too keen to speak on the matter, he finally opened up to CT saying, ���Yes, June has replaced Gargi in my film. It���s unfortunate, but I don���t want to comment further on it as Gargi���s a dear friend. I remember suggesting that she work on her looks for this role. But I���m thrilled that June has stepped in. She���s naturally glamorous and, considering the extreme variations in Julekha���s character, we can experiment with her looks too.���
The film, which revolves around the murder of a woman, stars Saswata Chatterjee, Abir Chatterjee, Rahul, Dipankar De, Shantu Mukherjee, Swastika Mukherjee, Payel Sarkar, Debleena Dutta and Ritwick Chakraborty. It goes on the the floors on April 10.
Meanwhile, Gargi ��� who���s shooting for Loraiopposite Prosenjit Chatterjee in Purulia ��� said, ���Arindam���s a friend, so there can���t be any money-related tiff with him. But due to some unforeseen issues, we decided to not collaborate now. Let our friendship remain. My best wishes to the team. Also, I didn���t work on my look and body for Arindam���s film only ��� some of my other roles demanded that I be lean.���
On her part, June shared, ���All I can say is daane daane pe likkha hain khanewale ka naam! Arindam had approached me first for the role. Later he told me Gargi will be playing Julekha and I was fine with it. But I���m happy to bag this as there are plenty of shades to the role.���
