The serial
Kamala Nibas explores love, sacrifice and the quiet resilience of a Bengali joint family. It is a deeply emotional drama that captures the essence of a Bengali middle-class joint family. Rooted in realism and timeless values, the show promises a poignant portrayal of lifelong dreams, silent sacrifices and everyday struggles faced with dignity and grace.
Kamala Nivas revolves around a couple whose greatest aspiration is not wealth or status, but the simple dream of owning a home and seeing their daughters settled in marriage. As multiple generations live under one roof, relationships are tested, values are questioned and misunderstandings arise—highlighting how love, when pushed to its limits, can either break or endure.
At the centre of the narrative is Kamala, played by Sohini Sen Gupta, a devoted wife and nurturing mother who serves as the emotional anchor of the family. Clad in simple cotton sarees and guided by strong values, Kamala embodies quiet strength and integrity, holding on to her dreams of joyful weddings for her daughters.
Opposite her is Shrinibas, portrayed by Debshankar Halder, a principled mechanic who measures success not in wealth but in respect. A man of few words, Shrinibas carries a lifelong promise—to build a home where Kamala can finally feel secure. His silent resilience and unwavering honesty form the backbone of the family’s journey. Adding to the excitement is the special return of Parambrata Chattopadhyay to television in a significant guest appearance.
