Koel Mallick is one happy person. The actor has joined UNICEF as the celebrity advocate for the Girl Child. This was announced at the launch of 11th International Children���������s Film Festival in Kolkata. Says the actor, ���������I am deeply honoured to have been asked by UNICEF to become a Celebrity Advocate for the Girl Child. I am committed to working with UNICEF to help children, overcome poverty, violence, disease and discrimination across the West Bengal.��������� As far as the Festival is concerned, it will show 41 films at various locations in West Bengal.
This year, entries have been received from 14 countries including France, China, USA and Iran. For the first time, the Festival will also showcase five films made by UNICEF Child Reporters from West Bengal.
