Kolkata-based music group’s 10-year celebration concert hits all the right notes
Kolkata-based music group Beat Blasters marked a decade of music with a memorable concert. The event featured a mix of soulful performances and high-energy collaborations, showcasing the group’s evolution over the years.
Known for their innovative percussion instruments, the music group added a fresh twist to this anniversary celebration by collaborating with vocalists for the first time. “It’s been ten years, a decade that feels like an era,” Himadri Shekhar Das, founder of the band, shared. “We’ve experienced numerous ups and downs, but we've continued to move forward,” Himadri added. The children of Himadri’s music academy also took the stage, adding a special touch to the evening. The other members of the group are Namit Bajoria, Ritam Gayen, Tanmoy Barai, Aritra Polsai, Avishek Chowdhury, Pritam Roy, Ayush Ghosh, and Paul Sarkar
The concert’s diverse musical lineup ranged from Bollywood to Bengali, folk, and global genres. Sourendra and Soumyojit’s rendition of Mile Sur Mera Tumhara was a standout, while Mekhla Dasgupta’s Barso Re Megha brought a wave of nostalgia. Kartik Das Baul’s performance of Kalankini Radha and Timir Biswas’ performance added further depth to the night.
