Our love story began at a coaching centre in Kolkata a decade back: Trina Saha and Neel Bhattacharya

Actors Neel Bhattacharya and Trina Saha took a trip down memory lane to tell us all about how the city made them fall in love
Our love story began at a coaching centre in Kolkata a decade back: Trina Saha and Neel Bhattacharya
Actors Neel Bhattacharya and Trina Saha met at a coaching centre at Triangular Park a decade back. Years have passed by, and they’re a married couple now. So, when the duo revisited the centre for the Valentine’s Day shoot, it was a walk down memory lane for them. “We met at the coaching centre while pursuing MBA. It wasn’t love at first sight, but we liked each other instantly. So, when CT asked us to shoot at the place where our love blossomed, memories came rushing back,” Neel told us with a smile. To this Trina added, “When I met Neel at the coaching centre, and started going out, I thought it was just a fling. But later, I realised that we’d developed feelings for each other. Though we lost touch for a few years when I moved to Delhi, we were back together when I returned. I’m grateful to Kolkata, as it helped me find my life partner who’s also my best friend.” When asked about what love means to them, both agreed it was compatibility.

HOW KOLKATA PLAYED CUPID

Neel:
Kolkata played a huge part in our romance. I learnt driving at that time so that I could take Trina out for drives around town. Saraswati Puja used to be our VDay at the coaching centre, and I fell for Trina when I saw her in a yellow sari during the Puja. We even bunked classes to drive around town (laughs). We’d have coffee dates at a cafe on Southern Avenue and long walks down the city’s lanes helped us fall in love. Though we lost touch, it sparked again and now, we’re married. Kolkata is truly a premer shohor.
Trina:
Kolkata biryani played a huge part in our love story – from our first date to our wedding. After returning from Delhi, I realised that Kolkata is a city of emotions and sentiments, and both of us rediscovered ourselves in this city.
