Mimi Chakraborty set to make her Hindi OTT debut

It’s official. Mimi Chakraborty is all set to make her Hindi OTT debut. Confirming this exclusively to Calcutta Times, the actress-MP said, “Yes, I’m part of a Hindi OTT project, the shooting for which is set to start very soon. But I can’t disclose details about the project or my role, as I’m contract bound.”

Mimi’s OTT debut comes close on the heels of Prosenjit Chatterjee’s, who is part of Vikramaditya Motwane’s upcoming web series along with Aditi Rao Hydari.Even Abir Chatterjee made his debut on OTT with the June release, Avrodh: The Siege Within 2. Then comes the long list of common Tollywood faces on OTT such as Jisshu U Sengupta, Parambrata Chatterjee, Swastika Mukherjee, Paoli Dam, Raima Sen, Saswata Chatterjee, Soham Majumdar, Shataf Figar, and more recently, Anindita Bose, among others.

Now the buzz in the industry is that we’ll soon be seeing Dev doing a Hindi OTT project. When we asked Dev about this, he said, “Yes, I’ve got offers for Hindi OTT projects, but till December, I can’t take up any new project as my dates are blocked. Now, most OTT content is really good and out of the box, so once I’m free, I might consider being part of such a project if everything goes well.”
We’ve also heard that even Rituparna Sengupta is in talks with some production houses to make her Hindi OTT debut. “Talks are on with production houses for an OTT project. Shooting will most probably start next year. I can’t disclose anything more than that at this moment, as I am contract bound,” the actress told us.

Another actress who has been turning down Hindi OTT projects, is now ready to work in one. Speaking to us about it, actress-MP Nussrat Jahan said, “I had turned down three OTT offers last year because of my son. They required me to stay outstation for long stretches and I couldn’t, as my son needed me around. But now, he is two years old and I am ready to take up new projects. The stories and the character sketches in OTT shows are really praiseworthy and I’d love to be part of one.”
