Mithun Chakraborty to be part of Dinesh Gupta biopic

Mithun Chakraborty is part of Manas Mukul Pal’s Dinesh Gupta biopic and the buzz is that the actor spoke to the director when he was in town to shoot the promo of a dance reality as a judge.
Speaking to us, the director said, “Yes, I had a word with Dada when he was in Kolkata. We were supposed to shoot for March 25, 2020, and we did the look test at Mithunda’s bungalow on March 16.Everything was set. But it all went haywire because of the pandemic and we incurred a huge loss, as 40-45 people had come from Mumbai as part of this project. As the film is based on Dinesh Gupta and his time, so a lot of research went behind the project. Dada told me this time to go ahead with the film’s shoot from March 2021. As we can’t just stop work because of a virus, it is Dada who motivated me to start the project,” informed Manas.
Dinesh Gupta was an Indian revolutionary against British rule in India, who is noted for launching an attack on the Secretariat Building (Writers’ Building) at Dalhousie Square in Kolkata, along with Badal Gupta and Benoy Basu. “We will keep all these and a lot more in the film,” said Manas.
Soumitra Chatterjee was supposed to play a cult character in this film. “I really don’t know whom to cast in Soumitrada’s role. I am at a loss. I wrote the character keeping him in mind and now, I can’t figure who can replace an actor like him,” the director said.
