Every Indian young actor harbours a Bollywood dream. For actress
Naina Ganguly, who is often noticed on various Bengali OTT platforms and for her work in other languages, it became a reality quite early in her career.
"I have worked with RGV sir in quite a few projects, including feature films, short films and an unreleased web series. At the moment, I completed shoot for D Company and I am going to visit Goa for a song shoot of another of his film, Dangerous," Naina said.
The actress is thrilled that she got to play pivotal characters and leads in these films. "RGV sir was looking for an innocent face to play the role of Dawood's girlfriend. While facing the camera for the screen test, I forgot the innocent look part. I used my own understanding of the role and expressed myself. Looking at my work, he changed the scope of the role. It struck him that Dawood's girlfriend can't be just naive looking. She will be a sharp and intelligent person too," Naina shared.
She is all praises for her mentor who she says is known to have launched many careers. "I feel happy to be able to work with RGV sir again and again. Even today, if he calls an actor he will come to see him. Rajpal Yadav doesn't even look at the role. He just wants to work with RGV sir each time he told me," Naina said.
So, what does she think is typical of RGV's working style? What sets him apart? Naina said she definitely is growing with each of her work but working with RGV will always have a special mention. "Sir focusses a lot on eyes and facial expressions. If you see
Amitabh Bachchan and
Abhishek Bachchan in Sarkar and
Vivek Oberoi and
Ajay Devgn in Company, you will realise what I am talking about. I have been watching all his films intently. He works with three cameras and edits his shots himself. Even his assistant doesn't know what shot will he take next. He works very fast," she said.
