Now, Baishe Srabon to have a sequel

The year 2011 is etched in the minds of the Bengali cine-goers as director Srijit Mukherji came up with the thriller — Baishe Srabon — which had gone on to become a hit. It also received a lot of appreciation from both the masses and the critics. Now eight years later and after several requests, the makers and the director are announcing the spin off to Baishey Srabon with a feature titled, Dwitiyo Purush.The film has the tagline, ‘Baishe Srabon er por... Dwitiyo Purush’. The team chose 22-shey srabon, which is today according to the Bengali calendar for its announcement. The story of Dwitiyo Purush will commence from where Baishe Srabon had left off. The film will see Parambrata Chatterjee reprise the role of chief detective Abhijit Pakrashi and Raima Sen will be portraying her character of Amrita. Couple of new characters will also be introduced in the film. Raima, who is looking forward to the shoot, which starts from the second half of October, said, “I am so excited to work with Srijit again. The way he directs a thriller is praiseworthy and I am sure Dwitiyo Purush will have a similar effect on the audience as Baishe Srabon.” Srijit, who will be completing 10 years in the industry next year is optimistic about the project. “It will be a good time to meet old friends through this film,” said the director with a smile.
