‘Privileged’ Tollywood star reminisces her lifetime experience of working with Rajinikanth

On Rajinikanth’s birthday, social media was flooded with warm wishes from the megastars' fans. Many actors from all over the county also wished the iconic actor on his special day. As Rajinikanth celebrated his 71st birthday yesterday one such wish came from our very own Rituparna Sengupta. Interestingly, the seasoned Bengali actress had worked with Rajinikanth in the Bengali film ‘Bhaghyadevata’ which had the megastar in a cameo. Rituparna took to her Twitter handle to share a poster from the Bengali film and wrote, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR EVER GOLDEN STAR Had the privilege of working and sharing screen space with this megastar In Bhaghyadevata briefly where he did a cameo ....truly privileged...@rajnikant”Incidentally, this is the only Bengali film in which Rajinikanth appeared in a special role.‘Bhaghyadevata’, released in 1995, was directed by Raghuram and had another superstar Mithun Chakraborty in the lead. ‘Bhagya Debata’ was later dubbed in Hindi as ‘Krantikari’. Rajinikanth was seen as a singer in the title song of the film during a stage performance scene. In the action-drama of revenge and vengeance, Mithun played Jagadish Mondal who is always there to help the poor. Interestingly, ‘Bhagya Debata’ and ‘Bhrashtachar’ are the two films in which Mithun Chakraborty and Rajinikanth shared the screen.
