For a long time he was accused of churning out remakes or south copies but Raj has clarified so many times that making a remake was more of his producer’s choice. Perhaps that’s why when he started a new journey as a producer himself, he made up his mind, from now on he will make films that he actually wanted to make for a long time - mainstream films with good and original content.
‘Parineeta’ which released earlier this year was a perfect example. The teaser of his next ‘Dharmajuddha’ also looks quite promising. What’s more interesting is his another upcoming venture titled ‘Habji Gabji’ follows the same path. It will see
Parambrata Chatterjee and Subhashree Ganguly in the lead for the first time. It’s also Parambrata’s second work with Raj after ‘Proloy’.
‘Habji Gabji’ will address a socially relevant issue about how the young generation is getting obsessed with mobile and internet gaming. In fact, the title has been derived from a hugely popular mobile game PUBG. In the film, Parambrata and Subhashree play working parents who can’t give enough time to their kid and the kid is getting lost more and more in the virtual world of internet and mobile. It’s yet to be decided who will play their son. While the story and screenplay are by Padmanabha Dasgupta, Indraadip Das Gupta will handle the music department. Manas Ganguly will work as the DOP.
