Ranu Mondal back in the news, records two songs for her biopic ‘Miss Ranu Maria’

If you have talent, social media can make you a star overnight. And there’s no apt example than Ranu Mondal, who became an internet sensation once. We already know a biopic is being made on the life of the singer and actress Eshika Dey will play the titular role. While the 'Kacha Badam' craze is ruling social media these days, now Ranu Mondal is back in the news again.
The Hindi biopic is being directed by Bengali filmmaker Hrishikesh Mondal. It’s being shot in Ranaghat, Kolkata and Mumbai.

Titled ‘Miss Ranu Maria’, the film will see a lot of songs and among them, two are from Ranu Mondal herself. Recently she recorded these songs, composed by Sidhu and Sandip Kar, at a Kolkata studio in presence of the cast and crew of the film.
Actress Eshika Dey shared, “Ranu Mondal’s singing quality made her so exceptional and unique. This film will show the quality of hers. She had been begging for almost 12 years at a railway station but she had been an amazing singer. Interestingly, she never learned or taken any music lessons. See, everyone has something uncommon, which can go viral anytime.”

Ranu Mondal became a social media sensation after a video of hers singing at a railway station went viral. Ranu was heard even singing a hit Lata Mangeshkar song and it was only a matter of time she appeared in reality shows and even sang for Himesh Reshammiya.
