Ritabhari Chakraborty turns a plus-size model for her next film 'Fatafati', see video

Ritabhari Chakraborty who has always been vocal on issues like body positivity will soon be seen as a plus-size model in Aritra Mukherjee's next film ‘Fatafati’, which addresses the issue of body shaming.
Recently a promo video of the upcoming film was announced celebrating International Women’s Day. Incidentally, ‘Fatafati’ which was first announced way back in 2020 will also see Abir Chatterjee playing Ritabhari’s husband.

As we see in the promo, Ritabhari and Abir’s characters talk about the hype surrounding hourglass figure, seen an ideal beauty standard for women for years, as they measure a mannequin. Next, we see Ritabhari revealing her new look as the plus-size model towards the end of the promo.

Speaking about the film and the seriousness of the subject Abir says, “Cinema has always been an important medium and we, being actors, try to communicate a few things using this medium, at the same time entertaining people. And Fatafati has both in equal portion.”

Director Aritra Mukherjee, who is right now relishing the huge success of his latest film ‘Baba Baby O’ shared, “I have worked with Ritabhari in Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti. She is a powerful actor, and I wanted to work with her again. Abir is also superb in every role that he enacts. In this film, people will see him in a completely different character and we are eagerly waiting to embark on a new journey."
If all goes according to plan, ‘Fatafati’ will hit the shooting floors in April.
